Bipolar Disorder:

Also known as Major Depressive Disorder. It affects how you feel, think, and perceive yourself. People with depression often have difficulty with day to day activities. In severe cases, it can feel like life is not worth living. Treatment often involves long term plan with psychotherapy, medications (anti-depressants), along with diet and exercise. Depression can impact any age group from teens to older individuals.

This is a mental health condition that impacts how your brain works. It interferes with your thoughts, memory, senses, and behaviors. It impacts your day to day life. It is a disconnect from reality with hallucinations and delusions. There are various forms of schizophrenia and it is treatable.

Anxiety causes fear and dread that is often out of proportion to the situation. It is normal to have some anxiety but those that suffer from severe anxiety are unable to perform daily activities. Anxiety can lead to other mood disorders. Treatment involves medications and / or combination of psychotherapy.

OCD involves having pattern of unwanted thoughts and fears known as obsessions. These lead to certain behavior patterns known as compulsions. This can lead to inability to carry out daily tasks.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD impacts ability to pay attention, hyperactivity, and impulsive behavior. It can lead to problems with social interactions, work and school performance. It can lead to low self esteem and depressive symptoms. Many people have forms of ADHD that can be dealt with lifestyle changes. Severe forms require medication and professional help.
